Help: Checkout

Before placing an order with Colorado Miniatures, please read about the following topics. This important information will help you properly complete the checkout process and avoid problems that can cause delays in the processing of your order:

1. Customer E-mail Address
2. CVV/CVC/CID Code
3. International Customers

1. Please use a valid e-mail address when placing your order. Doublecheck it for typos before completing your order and make sure that you are not using an e-mail provider that habitually blocks external e-mail as SPAM (such as MSN, AOL, Hotmail, etc.). If we need to contact you about your order, we will contact you by e-mail. If we cannot contact you after repeated attempts, your order may be subject to cancellation.

If your e-mail provider blocks large amounts of your incoming e-mail as SPAM or redirects it to a bulk folder, you should get in the habit of scanning through the e-mails being blocked before deleting them. You'll often find that legitimate e-mails are being blocked or re-directed without your knowledge.

2. If you're paying by credit card, you will be prompted to submit your CVV/CVC/CID code after you've completed the checkout procedure. Visa/Mastercard/Amex/Discover prohibit online merchants from collecting and storing this code alongside your other credit card information on the same computer. For this reason, we must collect your CVV/CVC/CID code separately by asking that you e-mail only this 3-digit or 4-digit code and your name to an e-mail address that is not hosted on our Colorado Miniatures webserver. Full instructions will be displayed on your computer screen after you submit your order. Upon receipt, we'll record your CVV/CVC/CID code in a notebook and delete it from the computer, so that it is not stored electronically. Colorado Miniatures cannot process any order without a valid CVV code.

For Visa/Mastercard/Discover, this is a 3-digit code that is found on the reverse side of your credit card. For Amex, this is a 4-digit code found on the front of your card. The CVV/CVC/CID code is required in order for us to process your transaction. This requirement helps prevent fraud by ensuring that the card is physically present at the time of the order.

The location of this code on the various cards is illustrated as follows:

Find Your CVV/CVC/CID Code

Visa refers to this as a CVV code. Mastercard refers to this as a CVC code. Discover and Amex refer to this as a CID code.

3. Customers from non-English speaking countries often use alphabets that include characters which cannot be found in the English language. Unfortunately, entering such characters during checkout will result in garbled information being submitted on your invoice. The software that we use simply does not recognize such characters and replaces them with unreadable ASCII symbols. In such cases, we ALWAYS have to contact the customer for clarification and this leads to a delay in the processing of the order. Please do not use such characters when submitting your order. Try to give the English equivalent spelling for any words containing such characters. For example, Müller should be entered as Mueller.

Also, if you have a lengthy street address, please do not try to fit it all on a single address line. The Address section of the checkout process allows for 2 address lines. For lengthy street addresses, you should split the information and enter it using both address line fields.

Finally, when entering your credit card information, you will be asked for the First Name and Last Name. This should be the first name and last name of the person to whom the card is issued.
